MavFanatic Newsletter
David Miller

Greetings Maverick Fans, I hope you enjoy reading the new, official on-line newsletter of UNO Athletics – MavFanatic! We are excited about this new forum in which we can reach out on a monthly basis to all of our valued alum, fans and stakeholders of UNO. We plan to bring you updates involving department happenings, student-athlete profiles, in-season team updates, and Mav moments from the past. We are able to provide this to you thanks to our presenting sponsor LinkedIn, as well as our corporate sponsors Deeb Realty and First National Bank of Omaha. At the same time, I would be remiss if I did not thank a member of our department, Associate Sports Information Director, Steve Field, for all his assistance and work on this new endeavor. As we move forward with MavFanatic, we hope to improve and enhance it with each issue. If you have a suggestion that you would like to pass along to us, please do so via e-mail to: unomavfanatic@unomaha.edu.

On February 1 of this year, UNO athletics and ISP Sports reached an agreement for ISP to assist us with revenue consulting services involving corporate sponsorships, marketing of the program, development of ticket plans and analysis of other multimedia opportunities. We are pleased to have this opportunity to work with ISP Sports, as UNO is the first division II program they have teamed up with. (Full Story)

Alyssa Green

What made you decide to be a Maverick?
I decided to become a Maverick because I liked the coaching staff and the UNO campus. UNO has a good pre-med program as well.

Do you have any pregame rituals?
My pregame ritual consists of getting to the gym a bit early to put up some shots before everyone else gets dressed. Then I usually go down and get dressed while listening to some tunes to mentally prepare for the game.
What’s your major?
I'm majoring in biology, pre-med.

What are your career goals after graduation?
My career goal is to become a doctor, hopefully something in pediatrics.

Do you know a MavFanatic? Why is he/she a Fanatic for Maverick Athletics?
I do know a MavFanatic. We call him Maverick Dave! He is always at our home games and follows our team religiously.
